Fitting the Major Arpeggios into the Scale

The previous three lessons covered the five positions of Major, Minor, and Diminished Triad Arpeggios. The next three lessons will join the patterns learned in the previous three lessons into the five scale patterns you learned several lessons ago.

Each diagram will show one of the five scale patterns you have learned, notes will be labeled and color-coded according to the arpeggio(s) they are from. You will note that the three major triads encompass all the notes of the scale.

Notes from the tonic major arpeggio will be in green. Notes from the major arpeggio rooted on the fourth scale degree (Subdominant) will be in blue. Notes from the major arpeggio rooted on the fifth scale degree (Dominant) will be in red.

Notes which are common between arpeggios will be notated twice, labeled for both arpeggios. Note, there is still only one note on those frets, it just has two interpretations!
